Thanks for taking the time to check out this How-To post!
The purpose of this community is to share what works. From ideas to solutions, and to the best media and tools out there.
On the left-hand menu, you will be able to find all the spaces that we have. Most of these are self-explanatory, or they will have a topic pinned to their right-hand side with an explanation. The only thing to remember is that different spaces have different rules and might operate in a different manner.
Regarding the Media and Tools space groups, anyone can add items. Please do make sure that these items are complete and relevant, or they will be removed. These items are displayed on popularity, so please take the time to hit like on the items that you deem to be great, so they may float to the top.
Free members might not be able to enter or contribute to some spaces, that contributors can enter and contribute to. The Jobs space is an example that anyone can enter, but where only contributor members can add listings. Deals, Chat and some other spaces are only accessible to contributors.

I would like to give you a very warm welcome to what I have always wished existed when I first tried starting an innovative scalable business; a startup.
We are trying to create a launchpad, or a foundation, for your future success. A place where you can find thought-provoking articles, interesting books, and discover the best tools for the job at hand.
I hope you are able to find what you are looking for, and if not, please take the initiative to ask. Like all the best things in life, you get what you give.
Make sure you go ahead and introduce yourself by creating a new topic, and make sure you take a look at the community guidelines.
All the best,
Leon Pals
Ps: Most of what we do here is freely available, but there's also a section for contributors on a paid membership, with some extra perks, 70k in Startup Deals, and thousands of other founders and investors in our Startup Chat community on Slack.

Please introduce yourself by hitting the New Topic button to the top right. We are eager to hear who you are, and why you are here. To make it more personal, feel free to throw in what got you into startups, and entrepreneurship in the first place. Of course, you are also more than welcome to add what role you fill at which venture.

Welcome to Startup Foundation!
Startup Foundation is a space to share what works. By sharing and recommending media and tools, and through asking and answering questions.
To make and keep this place a great experience for everyone involved we would like to set some guidelines:
🥰 First and foremost: Be nice and respectful to one another. - It is perfectly fine to critique content or ideas, but please do not direct yourself to the related community member.
📣 Do not promote, solicit, practice cold outreach/acquisition, or spam, as this is not appreciated and disrespectful to the time of others and it generates noise. Consider your personal brand and take the time to contribute.
🌍 This is a public community and everyone online can see what is posted so we will also provide help to those that are not a member. If you want to discuss things more privately, there are spaces for that for contributing members.
📈 A startup is considered to be a temporary organization looking for a scalable and repeatable business model. Freelancers that have an interest in, or work for startups, are very much welcome. Questions about freelancer accounting, import/export opportunities, are not.

If you have other questions, head over to the How-To, followed by the FAQ if the How-To did not help.
In summary, please enjoy, and leave it better than you found it.

My name is Leon Pals and I have been involved in the international startup scene since 2010, and have been actively contributing to making it better i.e. more accessible since 2012 with Startup Foundation. From spreading the Lean Startup methodology across Europe with workshops to setting up Startup Chat, Startup Curated and Startup Deals. I also run a small coworking space in my hometown Rotterdam called Progress Bar.
I like to call myself a facilitator or host, and I try to keep busy with designing ways for people like you to generate value for each other. I'm interested in progress and entrepreneurship and believe that progress can be made if we share what works and what does not. Practically all that I do is based upon knowledge exchange regarding entrepreneurship, from consultancy, workshops, the coworking space to this. I hope my efforts will enable you to give, and gain valuable information.

This space is to share opportunities you have spotted, and ideas you have but are not going to pursue. You can also share requests for startups, for when you are experiencing a problem, that you wish someone else would solve. And if you have an idea, but you are not sure if it already exists, check here.
Furthermore, ideation regarding the business model is also very much welcome. Even possible strategies for execution can be discussed here.
Of course, you do not have to share your trade secrets. But a little creative exercise never hurt anybody.
